Skwentna Roadhouse
A Diamond in the Rough
The Skwentna Roadhouse - Built in 1982 to provide housing
for school children, in 1984 it became the 1st checkpoint
for the Iron Dog Classic, now known as the "Alaska National
Guard Irondog Race."
The longest snowmachine race in

Since then the Skwentna Roadhouse a true
"Diamond in the Rough" has become The Best Kept secret in
Alaska's outback - a popular hotspot for the Alaskan
adventurer. The Skwentna Roadhouse is delighted to provide
lodging for the spectators of the Skwentna Checkpoint for
the Iditarod Dog Sled Race enthusiast. We are also proud to
be a Checkpoint for the newly revived Iditasport and the
Iditarod Invitational both Ultra Alaskan - winter sports.
Right out our front doorstep we have world class
Fishing, Hunting & Snowmachining. We are happy to provide
World class Fishing trips ~ Jet Boat excursions - Float
trips - Flight sightseeing and true Alaskan adventures. We
provide top of the line skilled guides for all of the above
- or you're welcome to become an Ultimate survivor and rough
it on your own.
We are lifelong Alaskans and
we look forward to helping you plan an adventure of a life
time. The Skwentna Roadhouse is a comfortable and relaxing
location for year around outdoor enthusiasts. We
provide comfortable rooms, hearty meals and spirits for the
adventurer and local travelers.

The new
Roadhouse is located about 8 miles downstream from the
original historic Skwentna Roadhouse —
The
Roadhouse is at the junction of the Yentna and Skwentna
rivers. Skwentna, Alaska, is on the Historic Iditarod trail.
We are located at 61�58'219"N 151�11'714"W. The Skwentna
Area is 450 plus square miles in size of which 6.9 square
miles is water. It is approximately 50 nautical air miles
from Wasilla, Alaska, 65 nautical air miles from Anchorage,
Alaska and about 70 river miles from the Deshka Landing in
Willow, Alaska. The Skwentna Roadhouse is fortunate to have
a State owned and operated Airport in our front yard.

We are open 7 days a week year around. We look
forward to serving & supporting & visiting with the
true Alaskan adventurer!!
We take great pride
in providing an Alaskan experience in a very
comfortable rustic atmosphere with all the comforts
of home, comfortable beds, and home cooked meals.
We
are outfitted to cook for groups and also provide an
open menu for Breakfasts, Lunch & Dinner for those
un announced - spur of the moment travelers. We can
accommodate up to 18 people in the lodge comfortably
- Where we have... Running water, Toilets
& Hot
Showers, Queen size beds, Cable TV & Wireless
Internet. |

We’re not just a
bunkhouse anymore!
The lodge also has 2
heated cabins that can accommodate a small or large
party (4-8) they are rustic although quite
comfortable. They have no running water, so you can
really appreciate the Alaskan adventure. They each
have their own private privies ~ the Alaskan out
house. |

The culinary skills at the Roadhouse are
excellent and tasty; we provide quality meals and
tasty treats Please don't come here expecting to
lose weight…
The Roadhouse is also available
for private parties; group Dinners & meals on the
fly delivered hot to the airport. We specialize in
Fly-in steak, prime rib or shrimp/ King Crab Dinners
just call ahead for reservations.
We have
hot coffee and assorted alcoholic beverages, fresh
homemade cookies or banana & pumpkin rolls for
the welcomed adventurer. Every day we provide
delicious meals and after dinner delights. |
